Farewell, my Beloved & Dearest Grandma
On 27th Mar 08, 5:59pm, my grandma passed away @ Singapore General Hospital.....
On that day, I knocked off work @ 5:30pm and was on my way to find Wei @ Sun Plaza. Suddenly, I received several missed calls from Evelyn, my cousin. She said that Grandma was going to leave us and she was crying, crying very hard. She could hardly catch her breathe.
I started to panic. So I told Cai Yuan that I had to rush to hospital. So I got off the bus immediately. On my way in the cab, Eve called again, this time more serious. Grandma passed away le. Grandma had left us le.....
I cried and called my parents about my Grandma's death. I called my mum @ her mobile. She was working. She broke down. I regretted for neglecting my grandma as I was busy working part-time and had only some time to accompany her.
I was scared upon reaching the hospital. When I reached there, Jiu Jiu, Evelyn's father and brother, Shane were there, crying and sad. Evelyn had asthma and couldn't stop her crying, was on a chair, trying to catch her breath. Shane and his father were helping her. I walked into the ward, walked towards grandma's bed. There she was, resting & lying on her bed, so peacefully and soundly. I, too, couldn't stop my tears from flowing. At that time, I hated myself for not visiting my grandma more often. I regretted le but it's too late to regret.
I reached out my hands to touch Grandma. She was cold & still. She was not breathing le. I cried. So much that I could cried out loud. Grandma, you had finally released from all the pains you had suffered for these few years. That time was the last time I touched my grandma.... Grandma, pls take care. we all will take care of ourselves de. I Missed you, Grandma.
